Merry Christmas. It is such a wonderful time of the year. The focus on my Savior, Jesus Christ is so benefiting for my spiritual progression at this time and all times. I have loved how close I am becoming with the spirit. The spirit has strengthened me and has expanded my heart.
With more of a focus on my Savior, the last couple months I have been able to strive to be more understanding and compassionate to my family and anyone I am in contact with. It has brought the true meaning of having the “Spirit of Christ” at all times of the year, rather than only around Christmas.
“Because He came to earth, we have a perfect example to follow. As we strive to become more like Him, we will have joy and happiness in our lives and peace each day of the year. It is His example which, if followed, stirs within us more kindness and love, more respect and concern for others.” -Christmas: Gospel Topics, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
This Christmas has become the most blessed Christmas for me. I have felt nothing but gratitude for my Father in Heaven and Son, Jesus Christ. I have experienced some very difficult struggles but I have never felt more spiritually uplifted and happy at any other Christmas season.
I woke up early this morning and with excitement eagerly woke my kids to see if Santa came. They jumped up and ran up the stairs. The first thing we did was circle the tree to say a prayer. We expressed our gratitude for the gifts, season, family, and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. We each opened our gifts feeling so so grateful. We received wonderful gifts. I truly wanted everyone I knew to wake up receiving everything they wanted this year and feel the love of Christ. As we talked to family and friends we expressed how wonderful this year has been to us and that we are so grateful for what we do have.
The only thing that I needed or wanted this Christmas is my family. I love and care for them so much. All day I was so lit up to see their happy faces. I truly felt the “Spirit of Christ” within my heart.
The way we as a family have been having the “Spirit of Christ” has been through loving communication, understanding each other’s needs, serving, scripture study, and praying for one another. It has made an impact in our lives and it made this day better because of us working towards those.
I have never felt more grateful than I have been this year. I am so happy. I just want to live like Jesus Christ and love my family. It has been so heartwarming to live for righteous desires and know what the enjoyment of life is. The joy is feeling the “Spirit of Christ” and living with it and with my Dom, Rone, and Ry.
“The Christmas season is a time to reflect and act upon the blessings and opportunities we have because of the birth, life, Atonement, and Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As our Heavenly Father “so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son” (John 3:16), we express our love toward one another and toward God and His precious Son by giving of ourselves.” -Christmas: Gospel Topics, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Again, I have so much to feel blessed for. I have felt the “Spirit of Christ” this season and it has touched my soul. My desire is to live more like Jesus Christ, love my wonderful family, and love all the children of God with a Christ centered heart. My heart is so full.
Merry, Merry Christmas
