I have come to realize that when communicating to Heavenly Father it’s more about the intentions we have rather than the length of time speaking.
I believe Heavenly Father is so grateful when we communicate to Him. I believe it’s also very important to communicate to Him.
When we communicate our gratitude, our wants, desires, to repent of something, seek understanding, ask for directions, sharing our thoughts, and much more, we are growing a stronger relationship with our Father in Heaven.
Reciting The Same Prayer
At times we turn to prayer as leaving a message or reciting the same thoughts and feelings over and over. Oftentimes, we do pray about the same things without recognizing it. That’s fine, but trying to do it with the recognition.
When we aren’t praying with real intent and seeking for His guidance and the comfort of the Holy Ghost, I think we are missing out on so many blessings!
I do this sometimes. I will recite a prayer the same way before a meal, before we leave the house, and sometimes when I am tired because I’m not fully focused on who I am praying to.
As I was sitting down this evening, I wanted to pray about receiving some comfort in some education I want to move forward in.
I felt rushed because my kids were being loud and I had a lot of other thoughts or tasks I wanted to take care of.
As I started my prayer, I took a deep breath. As I exhaled I could feel the spirit of the Lord impress upon my thoughts to express my desires. Express the main desire and focus on that.
What I took from that impression was to pray with real intent and to seek the light and truth I am needing. I also took, truly focusing on what I can during that prayer, right then.
My prayer doesn’t need to be 30 minutes long to receive answers or to gain light and truth.
As long as we are speaking from the heart with our thoughts and hearts focused on the Lord, we can have any prayer lasting 30 seconds to 30 minutes, or what have you.
It was very comforting to receive this impression because I know I can be hard on myself. I will think that if I don’t express all the thoughts of my day and the whys and hows to why I am sharing this with my Heavenly Father, I am not doing enough.
Heavenly Father knows the intentions of my heart and my thoughts. He knows when I am giving my best and the areas I can work on.
Heavenly Father JUST loves to Hear From You!
He loves to hear from us. He also loves to hear from us when we are seeking His light, truth, and guidance by focusing on Him. When we desire that focus we can receive answers or even warmth in our hearts.
I love praying to my Father in Heaven. I love sharing every aspect that I can. I also want to do it when I can focus on why I am doing it and what I am saying to receive spiritual insight.
The insight I received this evening was to give my heart and intentions to Him even if the prayer doesn’t last for a long time.
Just giving that moment and my desire to learn from Him or comfort from Him was exactly what I needed.
Not everything is about the length or the making sure we get our prayer checked off for the day.
It’s the connection we can have by seeking the light and truth from the Holy Ghost, Jesus Christ, and our Heavenly Father.
36 Yea, and acry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy bdoings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy cthoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
37 aCounsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for bgood; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the cmorning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
He just wants to Hear from you. Give your heart to Him and He will give you everything else! 🙂

Awesome read. I just passed this onto a friend who was doing some research on that. He actually bought me lunch since I found it for him! So let me rephrase: Thanks for lunch! Toni Erwin Andra
